I hear cracking sounds of contracting metal from one the radiators.

The system is purged so it is no air.

It happens mainly at the dawn, when its colder outside.

It only happens in one of the radiators (total of five).

I had it replaced assuming there was a problem with it, but hear the same noise from the new one.

Pressure is at 1,5 Bar. It is a Vulcano boiler and radiator.

Don't know what to do more. Help.

would need more infomation
but if you can not elobrate more may i suggest you get some one in

The plastic lugs are missing from the brackets which the radiator fits onto.

Turn off both ends of the radiator and drain the rad.
Remove the rad from the wall and place a few turns of electrical tape around the bracket where the rad fits onto.
Refit your rad and bleed.

Happy Days

Hi Andy,

I had a look at the brackets and they seem made of plastic only.

I tried to increase the boiler pressure a little bit (now almost at 2) and open both valves of the radiator (in and out) to the maximum. It seems to be better now.
