My house is 20yrs old I have lived here 8 months , cracks have appeared along the srtairs from top to bottom where stairs case meets the wall. Why is this happening?

You said a number of things , like what are any serious?
The carpet fitter was responsible for ours - bit too heavy with the bolster and hammer.
We had a damaged batch of caulk on a job last year and the skirting lines cracked everywhere there was a decent amount of traffic. Nothing to stress about....
