Hello
we have recently bought a 4 bed detached which is 14 years old. we noticed some cracks above the bathroom window (on the inside) on our second look around the house. this worried us abit so we spoke to the people that did the survey (which is a valuation survey) they said he did not put anything about cracks in the walls. so we carried on with the purchase. today we have been stripping wall paper and have found there to be more cracks in the walls . i have chiseled away the plaster and a small amount of the breeze block to have a look and the blocks have cracks in . the other thing is most of them are behind radiators up to the window ledge. they are roughly around 300mm long and they only seem to be upstairs. there is no visible cracking on the outside. we are a bit worried because it has cracked the breeze block. does any one know what would be the best thing to sort them out. or how serious this is are we worried about nothing. there are also cracks where the walls meet in the corner in some of the rooms.
any advice would be very help full
many thanks
chris

Sounds like nothing more than settlement and drying out.

If in any doubt you should commission a full structural survey - £500 now could save you £manyK later.
