creating cross references in pdf

Hello all,

I want to link parts of a long pdf document, so that the user can easily navigate to far-flung parts of it.

I've had a search on Google, and cannot find a simple how-to that i can make work.

I'm on Acrobat 9.0 Pro, and Reader DC, if that helps.

This is on Acrobat 8 but maybe it's the same in 9:

Highlight the text you want to link;
Right click, go to 'Create Link';
Follow the instructions.
