Hello.....only half of the double grill is working, this would seem to suggest the element is in two parts am I correct in assuming that I need to purchase a new grill element to replace the half that has failed or could the switch have failed instead ?

Any idea on cost and where I could obtain a replacement ??

Many thanks,

Steve

try over in the appliance forum for a more definitive answer..
but yes it could either be the element, the switch or the thermaostat

test the element first with a meter or continuity tester ,save you buying a element if its the switch pack .

Hi......thanks for the reply. I don't posses a meter or a continuity tester and I if I did I wouldn't know what to do with them.

Do you know if the element is in two sections, I can't actually see the element as it's behind a cover. If it is, I would strip it down and take the element to an electrician to have it tested.

Any ideas where I can obtain a new element if it does require replacing ?

Many thanks,

Steve
