Cutting block pavers with a cut off saw

Any tips on cutting pavers, particularly small cuts where it’s tricky to hold the paver in place?
I was planning on screwing a bit of 3x2 to a square bit of osb, and using that to stop the paver kicking back towards me. Or even a couple of parallel battens with a gap for the paver. But struggling to visualise it a bit and if anyone’s got any pointers it’d be appreciated…

Fix some lath to a board to hold the block on three sides.
