Cutting CI soil pipe

That part will not fit!

Its a massive job cutting c.i. pipe.

You would be better off drilling a hole and using a strap on boss.

Even drilling c.i. is difficult ! I use special Doran TC tipped HS drills to drill a circle of holes.

ok just dug down 18" or so and found the clay? bottom so its prob going to be easier to replace the whole lot. what do i use to seal the bottom(oh and how do i break that seal)

I'm with Agile. Fit a strap boss.
Drill a circle of holes as close together as you can get them, remove the centre and finish with a half-round file.

I've never has any big problems drilling cast iron, except when I tried using a very cheap 'HSS' drill bit. I think that had been made for drilling out damaged cheese head screws, the cheese in question being dairylea :( , but Tony has probably drilled more cast iron than I have.

Cutting and replacing a section from the stack is just making more work for yourself.
