Cutting Melamine

I have looked through previous posts but cant see what I an looking for

Can anyone tell me the best way to cut Melamine so I don't chip the whole edge please, I have a double wall unit 735cm high for the utility room but I have to cut it down too 600cm as the ceiling is too low, and also to fit the doors I have for the cupboard.

Unfortunately I only have a jig saw or hand saw, is it possible.
