Be it a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, bread maker, when one has a limited amount of stored energy, it is helpful to know what they use. A simple cup boiler is easy, 3 kW and takes 2 minutes, so 100 watt/hour, but items which during the cycle turn things on/off, not so easy, my fridge/freezer has annually usage, and clearly they are not turned off, so easy to divide by 8760 to get watts per hour. But a tumble dryer really needs to know how much per cycle, not per year.
Last night, wanted to run the dishwasher, but off-peak starts at 00:30 and ends 05:30, so question was, "is there enough in the battery to turn it on now?" From the picture
yes there was, it did not run out until 01:10 and was recharged 20 minutes latter, I knew I had 38% in battery, so 1.79 kWh left, but no idea what the dishwasher uses per cycle. Tumble dryer not so bad, as near the same start to end of cycle 600 watt, but the washing machine it varies so much through the cycle.
