Would 2 x 500 l direct unvented cylinders and a large accumilator ok 2 run 10 showers at local rugby team, only used once on a mon ,wed, fri for 2x teams of 15 men mains pressure is high and flow is approx 20 l per min and timed showers will be used. many thanks
I agree with DM. LPG is the way to go on an installation of this nature. We have done it in rural sports clubs quite a lot. LPG water heaters, buffer tanks & solar panels, quite commonly done now.
This is really a VERY expensive senario to cater for fully.
We have 32 people who need showers!
At just 5 min per shower and 10 li/min that will take 1600 litres of water.
By mixing preheated water with cold then 1000 li of 60° of hot water might just do the job in the summer.
But the flow rate will need 100 li/min to run the 10 showers and a bit more if they use the toilets.
So water storage of 1500 litres ( with the balance made up from incoming mains flow rate which also has to refill the toilet cisterns.)
Then that storage has to be pumped to about 1.5 Bar @ 100 li/min. Thats about FOUR Grunfoss pump sets on just two stand alone pumps if you want a litle redundancy.
This will cost perhaps £12,000 installed for starters if electrically heated, maybe more if on LPG. I dont think the added complication of gas is warranted for such limited useage.
