Cylinder next to pressure valve

Folks,

Need help identifying a cylinder next to the pressure valve on my oil boiler.

I need to replace it because it's leaking. I tried taking it off and refreshing the joint table with no luck. Its leaking out the top.

Its an automatic air vent. The pressure relief valve should be discharged somewhere safely also

Any reason why it would leak?

Replaced... Works fine now.
