Hi,we have just moved and our Daikin wall mounted air con unit trips the main breaker when it switches to heat, any suggestions please

I could be a few faulty controls that's causing this problem. A good guy with a multimeter & the internal wiring details should get to the root of it.
There is a diverter valve that moves to switch the circulation from heating
to cooling.
Either the motor the valve has failed.

Thanks, do you think the valve motor is something I could change? I'm a spark but never touched ac.

Yes quite likely open the unit up and have a look.
If the valve has gone it means a vac out, brazing a new valve in
and refill of the air con system.
