Daily load program keeps pausing..

I have a Whirlpool AWM6141/1 washing machine that keeps on pausing on the "Daily load" setting, if the pause button is pushed again then the program resumes from where it left off. This is obviously the setting that is nearly always used by my wife and the other programs work fine is there a simple solution to this problem or is a new programmer required and is this an economical repair to do, or is the part nearly as much as a new machine. The machine is about 2 years (maybe 3 years) old.
