Hi,
Separate issue to the revetment (see previous question). We have a small river that has previously been dammed to create a tumbling water effect. The dam is now very tumbledown and we're in the process of re-establishing it. Recent floods have scoured the sides of the dam and undermined the lawn on one side. We intend to sand bag the dam to repait the damage and then hid the sandbags with rocks. Question is, how long will hessian sandbags last in a river before they disintegrate. Although I'm not keen on the idea, would a man made fibre sand bag be a better idea, and if so, what material?
Thanks for any advice.
