I own a 1890's victoria cottage and have strange internal wall damp on each outside wall from within the cupboard under the stairs. Both rooms have re plastered at least 4 years ago and everything seemed fine however over the last 12 to 18 months the walls have gone wettish damp shadow like patches the skirting boards have gone a streaky orange colour.
I have inspected the other side of the walls in the cupboard under the stairs and these two walls seem damp as well.
I need to know do i have damp problem? or could this be a leak? or maybe bad circulation considering the cupboard under stairs has no real air movement?
I was hoping to try and resolve this problem myself is it a DIY job or more professional help needed?
