Hello, I got builders to make me a small shower room about a year ago. The problem is I don't think all the steam is getting out because there is a brown meldew and fungus growing around the skirting board. I reall don't what to do about it, the builders say it isn't their responibilty because the garantee has run out.
So what do I do, install another stronger fan?
Replace all the damp skirting board?
If you have any advice that would be great.

Is the fan located above or near the shower cubicle ? might need to be relocated or not powerful enough for the lenght of ductings or the fan need to have a timer delay which carry on operating when switch off.You might need outside air-vent or window vent as it's a small room. You can get fungus & meldew remover from DIY stores.

you might like to try a fan with a built in humidistat control.
it turns itself on and off and will keep running until the moisture is out of the room.

we've got one in our bathroom and it works really well.
