hi everyone,
so i just bought an old village house in france. the walls are almost a meter thick stone + render, with no insulation. in the process of ripping down the existing interior wood cladding and "vintage" wallpaper, i discovered some lovely damp.
the house is around a hundred years old and i'm assuming has no damp proof course. i'd love to get some thoughts or recommendations for avenues to pursue.
unfortunately the road outside is public property so i may be limited in what i can do to it. the neighbours seem to have nothing done to the walls either and many around here seem surprised at the concept of 'damp proofing'.
