Hello and thank you for looking at this post.

A basement is being redecorated. In one corner there is damp. The corner is part outside wall to courtyard and part party wall to neighbouring basement.

The effected plaster has been removed and renewed. The damp is continuing to penetrate and part of the renewed plaster is not drying entirely.

The basement will be tanked in due course, however for now is there a quick fix to stop damp penetration in these limited areas, and also to ensure all the renewed plaster dries.

Thank you again for looking at this post.

I've never found quick fixes in my house tbh mate. Best solution is to get the tanking done, board and then plaster. You won't have penetrating damp come back then!

The solution to damp is never paint ..ever. You need to find the source of the damp, is it rising , passing etc. do you have a damp course are you over it . Is your house older it may need evaporation to cure damp problems. Chances are if you tank it and then hide it it will sweat and lead to a bad smell. Damp is best looked at by a pro as it can give you long term problems to ignore it.
