Hi everyone..
Advice please…
Our old house sits right on the road( well narrow path then road ) we’ve now taken old render and plaster off( internally ) up to 3ft and salts continue to come out of bricks( very low down 1 ft ish) for well over a year now, The outside is higher ( obviously there is nothing we can do from outside) it doesn’t smell damp anymore or feel damp it’s just these salts…the floor has a bitumen coated which seems to be holding well( must have been done many years ago) so what to do….my idea is as follows, please don’t shoot me down if I’m wrong and also money is an issue.. real wood panelling with air vent holes at the base?
Unfortunately it’s grade II so limited to what I can do, yes conservation officer been round and apparently it was a drive by listing which was burnt down in the 60’s so in fact no original features or even bricks and lime left .
TIA
