Hi all
Last winter we had a few damp marks appear around the chimney breast at the top of the wall and coving in a first floor room.
I have tried to seal it so I can paint over and have used Zissner BIN which didnt work and then Dulux Damp Seal Primer and Undercoat. Both have had a couple of coats before overpainting with the emulsion and neither have prevented the stain from coming back through.
I have tested the wall and it is dry and the stains on the ceiling / coving have covered ok.
Any ideas what is going on or another product that might give a better result as the stain is now coming through 2 coats of Zissner, 2 coats of emulsion, 2 costs of Dulux Damp and a further 3 costs of Emulsion!
Cheers
