We just removed the kitchen units from our kitchen ready for putting down a slate floor. Behind the units we found the plaster doesn't go to the floor level and where there is no plaster there is very bad damp. Where there is plaster it is perfectly dry. The walls have been tanked, I'm guessing not all the way to the ground, to where the plaster is left off. Given that we're installing a slate floor and using adhesive and grout that says it can be used in swimming pools do we need to have the tanking re-done? Any help very much appreciated!
