Hello

I have 2 issues with damp in one room at the moment and was hoping to get some experienced advise.

One patch of damp is in the corner and it looks like this is caused by the path outside the room is above the DPC

The second patch of damp is where I removed a strip of plaster to run an electic and ariel cable down the wall then re-plastered over. When I was doing this I had noticed in some places I could see through to the outside where the morter had fallen out.

Any advise on how to stop the damp would be much appreciated.

How will I know that this has worked? Will the damp patches just dissapear? Will I need to heat the room up to help dry it out?

Lower the path, and repoint the mortar.
Only if semi-engineering bricks were used below DPC and not proper engineers as specified.

Blunda, It will dry out in time, heating and ventilation wil help.
The damp spots will be colder and could attract condensation, as could certain salts if present in the plaster.
