Just bought a 3 story house and it has abit of damp.
The front of house first and second floor have got crumbling plaster on the
wall other side of the wall externally there is alot of pointing that needs doing. The guttering was leaking very bad .I fixed this had it renewed a couple days ago.

I can do the pointing myself just need a dry period.

In the back reception room the firebreast wall also wall below the window is very damp not whole wall just seem to be patches. Ive lifted the carpet up and can see a stain going down the edges looks like something has leaked.

Ive seen no leaks when the rain was pouring down last week.The previous owners had dog and couple of cats {maybe urinated against wall}

The kitchen wall has patchs of dampness and patches of dryness

Any advice?

Think this should be in general :oops:

Have the fireplaces been sealed? , they need vents and chimney pot vents, without you will get lots of damp of those areas.
