Danfoss RAVL Gland Seals Replacement Query

I have (antique !) Danfoss RAVL TRVs on my rads. The actual valves and heads work fine but the pins are a bit sticky so I have managed to get some 013U0070 gland seals. Now comes the problem. The pins on the old glands are long 2mm dia and slide inside the hole in the valve insert, the new glands have shorter 3mm pins. The instructions are unclear as to whether the 3mm gland is suitable to replace the 2mm item. It is just a picture instruction with no writing and shows removing the gland with a picture of 2mm and 3mm options then a picture of the replacement item box again showing 2mm and 3mm options with 2mm crossed out. Does that simply mean that the item in the box only comes in 3mm ? Danfoss literature state there are only 2 types of gland to satisfy the whole range and the 013U0070 is the correct one for the RAVL valve. The 3mm one seems to fit and there is movement when pushing the pin, I suspect it just sits on top of the hole in the valve insert, but I obviously don't want to force it and damage the valve. Any of you out there "been there and done that" ?
TIA
