Debating installing some kind of opening to allow some natural light to enter our dark hallway.

Options are to fit two small rectangular type windows quite high up on the stud wall or something similar, maybe a round window or glass blocks. This will allow light to come from the lounge main window through the stud windows into the hall

What would you do?

Don't understand, that's exactly what fanlights are. Rectangular windows high up on the stud wall - over the internal doors.

The door is at the end of the studwall. I don't want a fanlight above the door but want some kind of window/s in the study wall adjacent to the hallway.
