data recovery program

had a rush of blood re-installed xp now "lost" lots of word doc. and acrobat files. tried a few freeware / shareware data recovery programs with, (some success i must add) but cant recover acrobat files i really want, typical. i downloaded HDRC magic NTFS trial program and it shows the name of my pdf files complete with the acrobat symbol, but dont really want to spend the x amount of dollars to find it wont display the info. anyone know of or got a very good program that works for this sort of recovery.
