Hi I am hoping to build a 2 story rear extension. I have received some information regarding daylight angles from the council. What I would like to know is whether my neighbours converted garage with French doors would count from where I take my 45 degree angle from or would it be from his main windows? Pls see pic

Ask the person you spoke with at the council.
Some councils specifically don't count overshadowing of windows in permitted development extensions, or garage conversions. If your council takes this view, then you would just need to consider the neighbour's main (original) windows.
