De-powering an intruder alarm

Hi Folks.

If i open the intruder alarm panel will this trigger the external siren.

I would like to shut down the system while the house is being renovated.

Whats the best procedure?

Some ladders if fitted correctly !

Disconnect mains
Disconnect battery
Disconnect bell box battery if fitted and working

Will the bell box activate when i open the control panel?

Shouldn't but the internal sounder ( if fitted ) may

Do you have the engineer code?
Putting the engineer code in first will stop the sounders from initially sounding.

Also, best to do this at a "neighbour friendly" time - i.e. no one will mind if the alarm sounds for a few minutes while you disconnect everything during the day time. Try it at night and you might have some annoyed curtain twitchers! (plus not being able to see what you are doing up the ladder!)
