I have completed numerous searches to try to answer this question but see to find conflicting views.

I want to descale my boiler as it kettles badly (Feroli sigma 40 60). It is in the garage and easy to get to without trapecing through the house.

I will rent a power flusher from travis but in the forums there seems to be debate about the descaler i should use.

The Kamco FX2 and Fernox DS40 and DS 3 seem to be talked about, But each seems to be dissed in various posts. Saying that FX2 and DS 40 are cleaners but not descalers and on the website it does not say the DS3 can be used for boiler descaling.

But reading through it seems to be a discussion about the benefits of certain acids and what are best.. Sulphuric acetic etc.

I was just wondering if there is an opinion on what is the best chemical to use?

It also seems that Fernox F1 is the choice to try to reduce this?

Any help/opinion would be most appreciated

Cheers

Can you really find any discussion where a professional has recommended using either of those acids on boilers or heating systems?
