Hi not really sure where to post this one.

New house and smell of old urine from the downstairs toilet. Behind the plasterboard of the toilet is the utility with an equally musty urine smell. Opening the mdf around the old pipes reveals lots of old droppings and what looks to be and old / recent/ current rodent nest. Lots of droppings as per pics.

What's the best way to clear this up. I can bait the area well etc , but in terms of the mess who would be the best company to clear this up and how to deal with smell from rodent urine!?

Thanks!

Just clean it up with disinfectant.

wear gloves and wash afterwards, Mouse and Rats carry a few nasties.

Unfortunately they don’t have bladders so they dribble constantly, so any runs they have will also smell

to stop them getting in, jam wire wool in any holes.

One thing I can say: rat wee smell is nowhere near as bad as dead rat smell.

Lots of the droppings are behind the waste pipe! What's the best way to get these out? Read a hoover is a bad idea as will spread things!

I would go with the dyson method then burn it afterwards, infact i'd burn the whole house down if i knew it had rats
