hi im looking to put in a new deck 9.6m by 6.1m. i have 2 adjacent walls so intend to connect timber to those with gap for drainage. i have an existing garden wall at the end of 6m run that i hope to rest the joists on. i was going to use 6 by 2 for joists at 400mm and thought id make in 4 sections 3 by 4.8 and bolted together. As regards posts seem to get conflicting advice on spacing and depth. I was intending to put a post on each joist 1.5m from house, at 3m where the frames are joined and 4.5m, leaving a further 1.5m to wall? thats obviously a lot of holes 60 plus , any suggestions?
