Hi we’re putting in a raised deck and putting blocked and rendered flower beds in front. We’d like to have rendered wall at back of planter with deck over top. I don’t know how best to do if I put ledger on the back of the planter wall the 145 boards will not reach over wall? If I rest board on the block wall do I need a plate or can they rest on wall if plate issues with render cracking? The other option is to build with timber and boards on face into planter, using balau but worried about rot? I’m sure as usual I’m as clear as mud but any suggestions greatly appreciated?
