Hi
I've got two problems with my decking. First of all, it has been stained with a solid colour stain that is peeling. I have jet washed it and sanded to get off any loose bits but getting it all off would be a nightmare.
The second problem is that a have a young child and the decking gets very slippery. I would like to make it non-slip.
A neighbour has suggested that I restain using the same colour and seal it with PVA. He says that this would cut down on peeling and make the surface non-slip. I know there are special treatments to make it non-slip but have never tried them.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions about this?
Thanks
JR

Pva? won't last 5 minutes. If they're smooth on the other side: flip 'em over, belt sander and coat of non-slip decking treatment. Not discounting the fact that the smooth side is generally more slippy anyway.

If not a large area would be easier to replace.
