try getting some plain old masking tape stick along the ceramic you dont want to seal ,apply the sealant and smooth as per instructions then deftly remove the masking tape before the silicone drys, hey presto should look nice and neat if its a huge gap allow the sealant to dry and repeat until the gap is filled.
