Decorating Sterling board walls

Hi we are moving into a new office soon and one of the walls are sterling board which has been painted and look s**te, can I just cover with a heavy lining paper and then paint? Is there any special preparation I need to do before going ahead?

If the boards have a shiny finish like silk or gloss give them a light sand and apply a thinned coat of paste, you should then be fine to hang your lining paper.
