Does anyone know of good decorating caulk what doesn't go grey pretty early on but stays White for a long time. Doing a decorating job but not doin the woodwork, but was just wondering what caulk stays White just incase I need to put a neat bead of caulk between wall and woodwork.

Cheers rob

Hi,

Unibond do a few staywhite sealants - trying to find them is another thing...

Look for sealant that has some form of UV protection on - this will keep it whiter longer.

I put the caulk on and then paint over it, since it doesn't match the emulsion anyway.

All of the caulks are designed to be painted over. They are not designed to repel dirt.

If you want a flexible non silicone product that can be over painted and cleaned (brick dust aside) then consider Sikaflex EBT

It is a great product but harder to apply cleanly than caulk and once opened it has to be used in a couple of days otherwise it goes off all the way down the tube
