DEEP gap polyfiller

Is deep gap pollyfiller the same as normal poly filler and just a marketing con.

I need to fill some chased out channels in my wall which are about 2cm deep, was hoping to use normal poly filler, but then i saw this deep gap stuff.

I've never used it Chris,, but if it was me, i'd use bonding coat undercoat plaster, and top it off with multi finish.
