ive put a dehumidifier in a damp ish room to dry out the walls so do you think i should have all the windows and vents shut or open as im thinking would moisture come in from outside?

I'm drying a screed floor and the weather is great - windows and doors open.

I think dehumidifier's need windows/vents/doors closed with some additional background heat to work best.

I'd use nature to dry out during the day and the dehumidifier in the evening

thanks for that one mate, ive got a few vents going round the tops of the walls which are only flystop type vents 6 in number but i'm sure they would take in minimal air from outside.Windows and doors are shut.

The dehumidifier has given me a near on full bucket of water since putting it in there on friday so happy days

if you try to dehumidify a ventilated room, you are trying to dehumidify the world. close the vents.
