What are the chances of successfully descaling the heatbank on this model?
CH is fine and all control systems working ok but over time the outrput of HW has become less and less. Now can only run bath at a trickle.
I guessed it might be a scale problem and posts to this site seem to confirm that.
I have also reclaimed a spare heatbank from a house up the road where they were changing their boiler.
However if I could just isolate the heatbank in situ and use some descaling compound I wouldn't have to change the whole thing ( it is very heavy.)
I do have time but little money and can plumb effectively, already changed pump and diverter in the past and both still working ok.

What do you experts think? Apart from the fact that a new boiler would be more efficient, but I haven't the money for that at the moment
Thanks,
Amy

The coil can be descaled in-situ but specialist kit is needed, if your long on time and short on money drain down and swap over for your spare, and hope your neighbour had a scale reducer fitted ;)

I had thought of attaching my spare pump via a mesh filter ( sieve in a bucket and some garden hose via appropriate reducer) to circulate descaling solution round heatbank coil in situ.
I have also seen a similar kit for hire that does whole system by inserting in place of pump.
