I have a Heatline C24 combi boiler, i replaced a faulty DHW thermister about 6 weeks ago, now that one has failed and have just fitted another one, they cost me about £50 each from a local plumbers merchant, i have just looked on internet and ordered a spare from Amazon at £6.99 they both have the same part No 3003200031, why the big differance.

:?

I cannot account for prices at plumbers merchants. I checked that part at 'Parts Center' on-line and it was £66.82 inc vat. !!!

Checked my favourite shop... eBay and the cheapest I found was £5 delivered.
You still have a good deal though at £6.99

Why did you pay for the second one, it should have been under warranty at six weeks old!?!?!?

Never thought of that, i was just in a hurry to get it sorted as my boiler supplies all the hot water in the house including the shower, i will look into that as i still have the receipts. :x

Actually it was a small industrial unit in Newcastle selling heating spares not a proper plumbers merchants.

Vokera HW Thermistors are an equivelant, which cost about £6.
Heatline will rip you off for the cost of parts, as their boilers are cheap.
Just keep your fingers crossed that your divertor valve does not let you down......££££'s

I find the guy behind the counter quite canny, really......the prices are reasonably competitive regarding motors, nozzles and pumps (I don't do gas stuff) - maybe a tenner over what I can get mail order. He carries reasonable stock too.
I was stuffed the last time I was in though - a drive gear for an EOGB burner (normal cost £3) came out at £18 so I don't know where that one came from. Either way, I just pass the price on so it doesn't really matter.
I've found that HRPC Byker (originally excellent) seem to have lost the plot of late and never have what I need in stock anyway.
John :)

I have to give the guy at border heating his due, because he give me a full refund today for the thermister,

:)
