Hi I need to replace an existing fitted single oven. I dragged it out and noticed it has a lead and plug. When I saw a possible replacement I noticed this one didn't have a lead and plug, instead it had to be wired in by an electrician.

Why would my oven (a philips) have a plug (Which seems far simplier to install) yet the one at the shop ( £300) need further wiring in?

Can a plug and lead be added?

Cheers :D

Because it is rated with a higher Kw probably.
Once all single ovens were on 13amp plugs.
There are ovens about still that have plug tops fitted.
