Scenario: 4 bedroom detached house with oil fired standard central heating system, well maintained.

Recent events:
- Boiler serviced about 2 weeks ago
- first floor radiators drained to enable repair to rad. valve, 1 week ago.

Since the draining a week ago it seems to be almost impossible to rid the system of air - lots of gurgling and air in the system. Sometimes it has been vented 3 times a day. Many of the radiators go hot and then become colt at the top - both ground and first floor.

There is no evidence of leaks anywhere.

Any ideas or help greatly appreciated!!

Thanks - I thought about this, as I had it happen on another system.

Will be checking it now.

If anyone has any other potential ideas, be very grateful to hear yuor thoughts.

Should have said that firstly check your F&E tank is full of water. Could just be ball valve stuck up.
