Digging garden over

I need to completely did my garden over, but someone told me you can't do it this time of year because it will turn it sour? is this true?

its alright to dig your garden at this time of year, if you turn the earth over leave it in big lumps and allow the frost to break it up for you,although if its very wet you might find it difficult to turn it over,anyway best of luck with it .
 
hey were talking tosh. best time of year to do it, as said frost will help brreak it up and will also help kill off any bugs, as will the birds.
 
if you soil is heavy and wet, try not to walk on what you have just dug, as you will squash and compact it.

depends whats in the garden. if its full of bindweed then its a false economy!
 
Depending on what you want to do with the garden when its dug over you could add a load of manure.

Double digging is an excellent way of of getting the soil in tip top condition.
