Hi,

I've decided to replace my Drayton RTS1 manual thermostat with a more modern digital one.

After searching through various threads on this site, it seems that the Heatmiser PRT may well be my choice.

It seems that the Drayton Digistat 3/3+ are complicated to set and also are don't have many 'extra' features.

I've read differing reports on the equivalent Honeywell products.

Not seen any other similar products mentioned.

Anyone got any other thoughts/recommendations?

Anyone with a Heatmiser PRT got any comments?

Thanks in advance.

Drayton are mostly the simplest to set of all the controls on the market.

I also quite like the new Sunvic range which are quite reasonably priced.

Thanks Tony,

Yes, I must admit I saw the Sunvic ones also, but rejected them on the basis of 'you get what you pay for' because they were very cheap in comparison to the others.

I'll take another look at the Drayton ones now, after your comments about their simplicity.

Don't suppose you've come across the Heatmiser one have you?

Thanks

Well I decided to go for the Heatmiser PRT in the end.

All installed and working - took me about 5 minutes to work out the wiring and made a quick call to Heatmiser technical support to check I was correct before I started.

It only took about 30 minutes to fit from start to finish - including fitting a back box.

So impressed with the ease of use of the unit. It only took a couple of minutes to program from scratch.
