dimable bathroom lighting

Hi all,

Am looking at this from screwfix:

Has anyone got any experience with these and how they work? It says that you pull on the cord to change brightness but is it on/off as well as dimming, and how does the switch know whether you want to dim or brighten when you pull on the cord?

Ive not used this one, but Ive seen another like it.

The way it worked was that you pulled on it to turn on or off, if you where turning it on the longer you held the cord pulled the dimmer the light got.

The downside for the one I used was that you could not dim the light without turning it off and then back on again.

Usually it's a short duration pull to turn the lamp full on/off, and if you keep the cord pulled it'll cycle up and down in brightness. Release when you reach your desired brightness.
