I have replaced a couple of single switches with dimmers with no problems- however the latest one I'm hoping to replace is confusing me.
The dimmer switch has one common terminal and one live terminal (L1). (L2 is not an option - i presume this makes it a one way one gang dimmer switch). The switch I wish to replace has 3 wires wired in (one neutral wire and two separate 'lives'/ (red wires)). Is there anyway of connecting the new dimmwer switch to these 3 wires - the existing switch is not a two way switch but just serves one light. Any help would be appreciated - thanks.

i presume when you say a neutral wire you say this because it is black? do not be fooled it is not a neutral.

Where do your existing wires go?

and yes you are right the switch you have is one gang one way
