disconnecting washing machine

i have a red and blue flex pipe i understand how to sort these but its the waste i am concerned about, its on a spigot and just connected up with a jubile clip - when i diconnect this and dont straight away connect it back up to the new washer, will it leak as its the same pipe that is connected to the sink waste?!

If it's like the one in the link, you can get a new spigot from the plumber's merchants, without the end cut off. The trap will leak if you leave the spigot you have in place, without blanking it off.
