I'm fitting a new kitchen at the moment,my question is draining the dishwasher ,my house us around 11 years old and has a drain where the sink drains into also at the side of the house about 2 metre away is another drain it used to have the down pipe into it but after loft conversion it was no longer needed, would this drain now be ok to drain the dishwasher into

What came down the downpipe?

If its close to the sink you could connect it to the sink trap.

Property of that age will have seperate drainage for wastewater and stormwater, If the downpipe was for rainwater then you wont be able to run a dishwasher into it, it'll have to connect to the sink drain. (Wastewater.)
