Hi all,

The drain hose on my Hotpoint FDW80 dishwasher is split and needs replacing. I measured the inside diameters of the rubber cuffs at each end and they are 32mm (right-angle) and 21mm (straight).

I'm just wondering if the nominal sizes might be different to what I measured. A quick scan of ebay suggests 29mm x 22mm is common, but looking at the pump outlet I reckon 29mm would be difficult to fit.

Also, can anyone recommend an online seller for such things (ebay or otherwise)? All the non-ebay sites I found were either ridiculously expensive or not enough detail about sizes.

Hmm, yes well... for various definitions of "cheap".

What I'm wondering though is the cuff size nominally 29mm even though I measure it as 32mm? I reckon it could be a tough job fitting 29mm onto the pump outlet but it wouldn't surprise me either - I expect it needs to be a tight fit.

If 29mm is correct then I'm looking at this, which also happens to be the ideal length (2m):

Hi,

Just an update more for the benefit of future searches...

Googling on the Hotpoint part no. for this hose came up with conflicting information suggesting the cuff nominal size was anywhere between 29mm and 32mm.

None the wiser, I decided that at £4.27 inc. p&p the 'generic' drain hose from Amazon was a reasonable punt, despite it being spec'd as 29mm.

Two days later it arrived (well done "Yourspares" of Amazon for prompt service), and guess what... while the packaging clearly states 29mm cuff, the thing itself measures 32mm. What a fuss about nothing, eh?

The original Hotpoint part:

The generic replacement:

Now fitted, and a test wash cycle completed successfully. Job done! :)
