Recently after a wash cycle the dishes are perfect but if I remove the Salt cap it has a lot of grease around the underside. The grease isn't getting into the salt area. I have cleaned the drain filters (they were pretty clean anyway) and done a few wash cycles using dishwasher cleaner, but the problem remains.

Is this normal? The dishes are OK but just worried it may be a sign of an issue coming as I haven't noticed it ever before in 7 years of ownership. It is a simple Bosch freestanding one.

Quite normal for deposits anywhere the water can’t access easily , wheels and base of door are also collection points, I pour a kettle of boiling water along the front door edge when open and it releases any grease build up .
I have found a dribble of washing up liquid in with each wash also helps keep the grease down , tabs alone are ineffective.
